Day 1: Chengdu
Settle into your hotel in Chengdu and take an evening walk around the historic Kuanzhai alley where you can enjoy mouth-numbing Sichuan cuisine over a cultural performance.
Day 2: Chengdu - Leshan - Emei Mountain
We’re off to Leshan to visit the tallest Buddha in the world. Explore the ancient temples in the grounds and learn about the engineering behind this impressive statue. This tour can be done on foot or take a water cruise to get a view from an alternative vantage point.
Our next stop is Emei Mountain, one of four sacred Buddhist mountains in China and the most well-known. An aura of mystery emanates from this lush, mist-shrouded mountain. The first monastery here was built nearly 2000 years ago and it now has more than 30 monasteries, all accessible by foot.
Day 3: Cable car up Emei - Chengdu
Today, we make our way up Emei Mountain to the Golden Summit (3,079m) by bus and cable car. If we are lucky, we will get to see seas of clouds, a sight out of a classical chinese painting. Take some time to marvel at the massive statue of Samantabhadra and how the Chinese developed the site hundreds of years ago.
Your private transportation will be waiting at the bottom of Emei Mountain to take you back to Chengdu city (or directly to the airport).

Explore Emei Mountain by foot, up ancient stone paths and steps, the way monks have contemplated this sacred mountain for more than a millenium. There are multiple routes you can take with varying levels of difficulty. Stay overnight at a monastery, enjoy a vegetarian meal and follow the monks as they go about their chores for a full cultural immersion.
